Macart launches UVision flatbed UV printer

Pune-based wide-format print equipment manufacturer, Macart unveiled the UVision flatbed UV inkjet printer which has been indigenously developed by the firm.

Atul Gandhi, managing director at Macart, said, “We saw a huge potential in the UV printing applications in India, plus the machineries catering for these applications have to be imported and are expensive. Taking this into consideration, we developed the cost-effective Uvision press to cater the local needs.”

“Except for the Konica Minolta printhead which comprises of six picolitre print-heads, all the parts like the UV lamps, the body has been manufactured or sourced locally. I am very proud of this machine and this is all thanks to our in-house R&D team who have put in a lot of hard work to design the machine,” informs Gandhi.

The first machine has been sold to Hyderabad-based Siyaram Doors Enterprises. Siyaram, an existing customer of Macart, invested in the machine after trials at its shopfloor. Ashok Patel of Siyaram Doors Enterprises, said, “We were satisfied with the built quality of the machine and its ability to print directly on doors suited our business requirement aptly.”

Patel said, “We have been using two wide-format machines from Macart since many years and the service support offered by them has been good. The Uvision will help us to cater to our existing and help develop new customers.”

According to Gandhi, the machine can be customised to various applications like the interior, ceramics, textile, boards, etc. The machine is capable to print on substrates with thickness up to 50mm and can print at a maximum speed of 400sqmt/hr.

“We have a trained team of service engineers across India and are available whenever required. Currently, the target is to produce 4-5 machines in a month and the orders for this machine have started pouring in,” informed Gandhi.
